Travel Preparations

Before you travel you must know what is required to make the whole process possible, most pet owners are unaware of the documentation and complications involved in transporting animals. Below is a basic checklist of what you will need to have completed before you even look into departure dates:

You should have your pet Veterinary records

Your pet should have been micro chipped or tattooed

Your pet should be up to date with rabies vaccinations

Your pet should not be pregnant or on the banned breed for flying

Your pet must not be less than 4 months old

Veterinary Services

Living overseas it is always good to be prepared way in advance especially when it comes to transporting your pet as the process can be very long winded if you are not. Keep your pets up to date with their vaccinations and health checks and it doesn’t hurt to have your pets ready even if you are not planning to take them out of the country in the near future. If you are up to date with everything you could even take them on holiday with you if you want and it will be as easy as booking a flight for your family. We recommend The Veterinary Hospital in Dubai as they are no stranger to the requirements for exporting pets being one of the longest standing veterinary clinics in Dubai. The veterinary services that are required for exporting animals [below] can be handled at the Veterinary Hospital in Al Quoz.

Recommended Airlines

Many airlines allow the transport of animals on their flights but when looking to travel to a particular destination you do not wish to have to change flights numerous times if there is no direct flight on your preferred airline. We have built up a relationship with a number of these airlines and will be able to let you know which route works out better for your requirements.
